The claim is filed by the company that owns the vehicle, or holds a lease or rental of 2 years or more. Its head office must be in the European Union. Vehicles must:
- be road vehicles used to carry goods;
- have a gross vehicle or combination weight of at least 7.5 tonnes;

Public passenger transport
The claim is filed by the operator that used the fuel for scheduled public road passenger transport, established in the European Union. Buses and coaches, as well as tourist road trains, registered in the European Union are eligible.
How the TICPE refund is calculated
Litres of diesel must be established vehicle by vehicle and match actual fuel purchases over the period. An estimate based on average consumption is not accepted.
The company chooses between two methods: apply to the volume the difference between the floor rate and the rate of the region of purchase, or, for diesel bought in at least 3 regions, apply a weighted flat rate. Rates are published by the French customs authority.
Important: only the customs authority is competent to process your claim and decide on the refund.
